It is with great sadness that I say goodbye to an old friend Jim Smith. I started playing music with Jim when I was 19 or 20 and along with Paul Soderberg we started a three piece group called "The Feds". As a trio we played some pretty crazy gigs which I suppose happens when your as young as we were then. Later at the end of the 80's Jim played drums on tracks I was working on which continued with numerous late night jams which were really fun. A couple of years ago I got to hang out with Jim and later at the end of summer Paul and myself met up with Jim for what has now become the final jam of "The Feds". Jim was a very cool person and I'm lucky to have had the chance to know him. RIP Bud. |
